Statfold Gala & Midlands Miscellany,

September 5th - 10th, 6 days

A new itinerary, visiting a variety of midlands attractions, most of which have not featured in any previous tour, but based at a comfortable hotel which we have used in recent years. The itinerary is still developing, so this is the outline so far!

Thursday) Our tour will probably commence at Winchester, with our own vintage Bedford OB coach, with an additional pick up at Didcot en route to our base at Hinckley. If you are travelling from further afield by rail, we will arrange a further pick up closer to Hinckley.

Friday) To be confirmed

Saturday) A venue I have been hoping to feature for some years – a day at the Statfold Barn Railway, an impressive private narrow gauge collection, for their Gala weekend.

Sunday) Another Gala event at the Chasewater Railway at Cannock Chase, with a variety of railway activity.

Monday) We visit the city of Coventry, with time to visit the city and the Road Transport Museum, which describes itself as the world’s largest collection of British built vehicles.

Tuesday) Time to travel home

The Sketchley Grange is an elegant four star country house hotel, which we have used on a previous tour, situated at Hinckley on the borders of Leicestershire and Warwickshire, with swimming pool and spa.

Tour price is £645 per person sharing twin / double room, with £75 single supplement if required. This includes five nights dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation, vintage coach travel with the group, plus all fares and admissions as outlined above.

Deposit £100 per person please to confirm your booking please.
