The Potteries & Foxfield Gala

July 17th - 22nd, 6 days 

 

An opportunity to enjoy some of the heritage around Staffordshire and the Potteries, including the Foxfield Railway’s annual gala event, with freight trains storming up the fearsome gradients from the former Dilhorne Colliery site.

OUTLINE ITINERARY

Friday) Our tour will commence at Winchester, with our own vintage Bedford OB coach, with an additional pick up at Didcot en route to our base at Stafford. If you are travelling from further afield, we will arrange a further pick up at Stafford.

Saturday) Off to Blythe Bridge for our day at the Foxfield Gala.

Sunday) The Churnet Valley railway and Cheddleton Flint Mill.

Monday) Morning to be confirmed, followed by private steaming at the Amerton Railway.

Tuesday) Stoke on Trent for the Gladstone Potteries Museum and then a private opening at the Etruria Industrial Museum.

Wednesday) Time to travel home

OUR HOTEL

We will be based in Stafford at the Tillington Hall Hotel, which we used on our previous tour to the area.

Tour price is £725 per person sharing twin / double room, with £75 single supplement if required. This includes five nights dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation, vintage coach travel with the group, plus all fares and admissions as outlined above.
