The North Eastern,

September 30th - October 6th

Here it is at last, after several false starts, a tour featuring a new area and once again using one or two of Greg Lawson's classic coaches for touring each day. The tour start and end point will most likely be Darlington station, although I know that some of you wish to travel independently to the hotel.

The itinerary is not yet finalised but we will aim to include the following:

The wonderful Beamish open air museum

Tanfield, and hopefully Bowes Railway too.

The city of Durham

Locomotion at Shildon

Weardale Railway, which will probably be a private charter.

A day grinding around the North Pennines to Alston - the highest market town in England - and the South Tynedale Railway.

We will be based at the four star Redworth Hall Hotel, originally a 17th century manor house near Bishop Auckland.

Tour price £825* per person in double / twin, £150 single supplement if required, which will include dinner, bed and breakfast hotel accommodation, plus all admissions and fares on our excursions.

The booking list is already open - may I request the usual deposit of £100 per person please. Hope you will be able to join us.

*£795 if you also book the Statfold & Midlands tour.
